Choosing a career path is not simple. I stand at the brink of my adult life wondering where I am going to be in five, ten, or even twenty years. As I think back to days when life was just about enjoying the sun and the friends around me, I almost feel sad to see those days pass. My childhood is rapidly coming to an end, and every day that passes brings real life closer. With all these concepts in mind, I stand today knowing, or at least thinking I know, what it is what I wish to pursue as my future goals.

After graduating high school, I am going to work all summer and save up money that will help cover my leisure expenses. I do not have to worry about college fees, thanks to my loving parents, however for other costs, such as entertainment and vacations, I must rely on my personal spending funds. Also during the summer, I plan on visiting other countries and spending a couple of weeks seeing the world. Traveling around the globe is a dream of mine and always has been. My financial situation is secure and I am satisfied.

Once the new school year begins, I will hopefully be attending a four-year university to obtain a degree in Engineering. Many wise people have told me that the likelihood of changing my career major is high. However, I believe that Engineering is a satisfying and successful option. I am adept at mathematics and science, which I believe will lead to a highly successful career in Engineering.

I believe that hard work pays off. This doesn't exempt the fact that I am a lazy person. I understand that my work ethics in college will greatly affect my career after graduation. In fact, I plan on working so studiously that I even have a goal of obtaining a Master's degree. I wan to be successful in life and I want to live worry free. My life's greatest ambition is to fall in love with the woman of my dreams and raise a happy family. To be honest I can't imagine a person whose most desired accomplishment wouldn't be having a perfect relationship.

My grandmother once told me that if a person can survive their teenage years, then they can survive anything. I think she was trying to tell me that the mental and emotional struggles of growing up are the most difficult trials in a person's life. Mostly I feel as though I've learned much more about how to be a better person as opposed to learning factual information. I may attend college to excel and earn a Master's Degree in a trade skill, but in life's important skills- how to get along, how to love, how to be happy those skills I'm proud to say I've spent my life mastering.
